ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

The Cooperative's 69th Annual Membership Meeting to be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at the Barre Elks Lodge.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Willem Lange, storyteller and commentator, Vermont Public Radio, Sunday Times Argus and elsewhere, as well as a WEC member. His presentation is entitled “I Don't Know Where It's Likely to Go Better”.

A dinner buffet consisting of roast turkey breast; oven roast pork; scalloped potatoes; bowtie pasta w/butter, garlic and parsley; mixed vegetables; salad; dinner rolls; pie; and coffee, tea or milk is by reservation only.

Cooperatives are locally owned and controlled by their members. WEC's one member household -one vote system opens up exciting opportunities for members to participate in the decision-making process of the Co-op. They do that by participating in and attending the Co-op's Annual Membership Meeting, which is held in May. The Annual Meeting is where members have the opportunity to vote for candidates for director and proposed bylaw amendments, and to give direct input to the Board of Directors, General Manager and staff. Members who choose not to attend the Annual Meeting in person may participate in the election process by mailed ballot.
